En el marco de la misión «La Patria Milagro en Washington», el vicepresidente electo José Manuel Restrepo, el ministro de Comercio designado Mauricio Gómez Amín y el ministro de Hacienda designado Miguel Gómez Martínez sostuvieron una reunión de alto nivel con el presidente del Grupo Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID), Ilan Goldfajn, la vicepresidenta de Países e Integración Regional, Anabel González, y doce líderes de las áreas estratégicas de la entidad.
El encuentro permitió poner en marcha una hoja de ruta conjunta para impulsar «Colombia Crece», una estrategia orientada a apalancar el crecimiento económico, atraer inversión y generar más oportunidades para las familias colombianas, enmarcada en LAC Crece, la iniciativa regional del Grupo BID para respaldar agendas de crecimiento lideradas por la inversión privada. El presidente del Grupo BID, Ilan Goldfajn, reiteró que Colombia continuará siendo un socio prioritario para la entidad: «Colombia siempre ha sido un miembro muy importante del Grupo BID. Estamos listos para trabajar en prioridades compartidas junto con el Gobierno del presidente electo Abelardo de la Espriella y ser un socio estratégico para acelerar el desarrollo del país y de la región”.
El vicepresidente electo Restrepo cerró el encuentro con un mensaje que sintetiza la visión económica del Gobierno entrante: «Colombia tiene una oportunidad histórica para volver a crecer. Ese crecimiento debe sentirse en las regiones, en el empleo, en la inversión y en la calidad de vida de las familias. La alianza que hoy comenzamos a construir con el BID es un paso decisivo para hacer realidad la agenda de crecimiento de la Patria Milagro». La agenda de trabajo continuará en las próximas semanas con la participación de los equipos técnicos de ambas partes para estructurar proyectos que se traduzcan rápidamente en más inversión, más empleo y mayor competitividad para Colombia.

Colombia and the IDB Group Launch «Colombia Grows»: A Strategic Alliance to Accelerate the Growth of the Patria Milagro

As part of the «Patria Milagro in Washington» mission, Vice President-elect José Manuel Restrepo, Minister-designate of Commerce Mauricio Gómez Amín, and Minister-designate of Finance Miguel Gómez Martínez held a high-level meeting with Ilan Goldfajn, President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, Anabel González, Vice President for Countries and Regional Integration, and twelve leaders from the institution’s strategic areas.
The meeting made it possible to launch a joint roadmap to advance «Colombia Grows,» a strategy aimed at leveraging economic growth, attracting investment, and creating more opportunities for Colombian families, within the framework of LAC Grows, the IDB Group’s regional initiative to support growth agendas driven by private investment. IDB Group President Ilan Goldfajn reiterated that Colombia will continue to be a priority partner for the institution: «Colombia has always been a very important member of the IDB Group. We are ready to work on shared priorities alongside the Government of President-elect Abelardo De La Espriella and to be a strategic partner in accelerating the development of the country and the region.»
Vice President-elect Restrepo concluded the meeting with a message that summarized the incoming government’s economic vision: «Colombia has a historic opportunity to grow again. That growth must be felt in the regions, in employment, in investment, and in the quality of life of families. The alliance we are beginning to build today with the IDB is a decisive step toward making the Patria Milagro growth agenda a reality.» The working agenda will continue in the coming weeks with the participation of the technical teams from both sides to structure projects that will quickly translate into more investment, more jobs, and greater competitiveness for Colombia.
