La Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños (CELAC) expresa su solidaridad y apoyo al pueblo y al Gobierno de la República de Colombia ante la situación de emergencia a causa de las inundaciones provocadas por las intensas lluvias en los departamentos de Córdoba y Sucre, que ha generado impactos significativos en ecosistemas estratégicos, comunidades locales y medios de vida.
Los Estados miembros reconocen los esfuerzos adelantados por Colombia para atender la emergencia, proteger a las poblaciones afectadas y salvaguardar el patrimonio natural, en consonancia con sus compromisos nacionales e internacionales en materia de acción climática, gestión del riesgo, defensa civil y protección de la biodiversidad. Asimismo, destacan la importancia de fortalecer la cooperación regional para enfrentar los efectos cada vez más frecuentes e intensos de los fenómenos ambientales extremos, que afectan de manera desproporcionada a la región.
En ese sentido, los Estados miembros de la CELAC señalan su predisposición de apoyar a Colombia mediante mecanismos de cooperación en asistencia humanitaria, intercambio de información técnica, buenas prácticas y cooperación técnica en materia ambiental con el acompañamiento de capacidades institucionales, de conformidad con sus capacidades nacionales y con las prioridades identificadas por el Estado colombiano.

The Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) expresses its solidarity and support to the people and the Government of the Republic of Colombia in light of the emergency situation caused by the flooding resulting from intense rainfall in the departments of Córdoba and Sucre, which has generated significant impacts on strategic ecosystems, local communities, and livelihoods.
The Member States acknowledge the efforts undertaken by Colombia to address the emergency, protect the affected populations, and safeguard natural heritage, in line with its national and international commitments in the areas of climate action, risk management, civil protection, and biodiversity conservation. They also underscore the importance of strengthening regional cooperation to address the increasingly frequent and intense effects of extreme environmental phenomena, which disproportionately affect the region.
In this regard, they express their willingness to support Colombia through cooperation mechanisms in humanitarian assistance, the exchange of technical information, good practices, environmental technical cooperation, and the strengthening of institutional capacities, in accordance with their national capacities and the priorities identified by the Colombian State.
