Tesla continues its commitment to vehicle autonomy and the continuous improvement of its technology.
Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) has announced major advancements in its core technology, highlighting its focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and hardware to drive innovation in the automotive industry.
In the field of artificial intelligence , Tesla has been investing in the hardware and software ecosystems necessary to achieve vehicle autonomy and a ride-hailing service. The company is betting on an architecture based on computer vision, using end-to-end neural networks, trained with billions of miles of real-world data. Since the launch of FSD (Supervised) V12 earlier this year, it has become clear that this architecture, long pursued by Tesla, is the right solution for scalable autonomy. To further enhance its end-to-end training capability, Tesla will continue to ramp up its core AI infrastructure in the coming months. In the first quarter, we completed the transition to Hardware 4.0, our latest onboard computer with increased processing power and improved cameras.
Regarding vehicle software and other aspects, Tesla has implemented FSD (Supervised) with a 30-day free trial for eligible cars in the US . and Canada. FSD (Supervised) can change lanes, select routes, navigate around vehicles and objects, and make turns. We have also launched Autopark for existing FSD (Supervised) and Enhanced Autopilot customers. We are currently working on ride-sharing functionality, which will be available in the future. We believe Tesla’s software experience is class-leading across all of our products, and we plan to seamlessly integrate ride-sharing into the Tesla app.
On the battery, powertrain and manufacturing side, the 4680 ramp process continued successfully in the first quarter and is moving forward with the Cybertruck ramp. Costs continued to decline sequentially as scrap, throughput and production rate improved.
Tesla remains committed to innovation and continuous improvement of its technology, with the goal of leading the revolution in the automotive industry and sustainable mobility.
